Yesterday we met up with friends and went strawberry picking for the first time this year. When I taste a freshly picked, local strawberry, I wonder why we even think about buying strawberries when they are out of season here. There is no comparison in taste.
For breakfast this morning, I layered strained whole milk yogurt (mixed with a touch of honey), homemade granola and sliced strawberries in French bistro glasses. Believe me when I say it was a perfect summer breakfast if there ever was one.
